Inside Llewyn Davis

Oscar and Golden Globe nominated Inside Llewyn Davis, opened to great reviews on 24th January 2014. With big names Joel and Ethan Coen directing, live musical performances from Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver and associate musical producer Marcus Mumford, the film would already hold a strong appeal to music and film lovers alike but the campaign needed to ensure that Inside Llewyn Davis stood out from all the other Oscar contenders and appealed to a broad range of music lovers beyond the folk genre.

As a result we partnered with The Guardian to really engage with our target audience using a 3 page wrap of their Film and Music supplement and offered a free audio download to their readers alongside sponsoring their music podcast.

To really engage music fans with the film and make a strong impact before it had even been released, buskers were sent down to the busy Angel tube station to perform songs from the film and entertain commuters during rush hour. The nearby areas of Old Street and Soho were decorated with fly posters, a large format and graffiti of Llewyn and his cat which further maximised our coverage in areas regularly frequented by music lovers.
