Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain
The long-awaited fifth main entry in the beloved Metal Gear Solid series, MGSV: The Phantom Pain represented a watermark moment in triple-A titles this console generation. Our strategy included display of the bombastic trailers in cinemas to take advantage of the impressive and thematic visuals of the title, as well as a solid outdoor presence all across the country. Takeovers on the most popular gaming blogs and streaming sites cemented the title in the audience’s minds through consistent strong imagery, and a partnership with PlayStation let us treat the game like it was a first-party title. This resulted in a huge W1 with over 165k copes sold over all formats, a solid #1 resulting in a quarter of a million copies sold by the end of the month.
